What should I expect in a Zero Balancing session?
A full ZB session takes one hour. First we discuss your primary complaints or concerns, injuries and surgeries - anything that I should be aware of when working with your body – as well as the areas of your life in which you would like to see improvement. I will evaluate your posture and check the ease and range of motion in your ribs, shoulders, and hips before you lie down.

The Zero Balancing protocol lasts thirty to forty minutes. I will focus each session to best address your concerns and help you feel as fully taken care of as possible. While treating specific issues, I will also focus on your person as a whole.
At the end of the session, most people take a little while to feel the shifts and differences in their body. They often want to talk briefly about what they noticed during the session and how they feel afterward.
How often should I come for treatment?
The duration of treatment will depend in part on the condition you are coming for, how long it has persisted, how serious it is, and your general state of health. In the beginning, it is beneficial to come regularly, once a week if possible, to get you on the right track and feeling better. Subsequently, we will schedule sessions for every other week and then farther apart. My goal is to get you functioning well on your own quickly. Afterward, coming in for tune-ups as needed - for example, on a monthly or quarterly basis - is a great way to maintain progress.
If you are dealing with a condition or situation that has been going on for a while, it is reasonable to expect that it may take some time to change direction. The length of time differs for everyone.
This work has a cumulative effect: as the body and mind shift to better health, the shifts begin to go deeper and last longer. The work helps you change habitual ways of moving and being in your life, and any change in habits requires consistency, persistence, and patience are required. You will get more benefit from the work if you can devote extra time to it in the beginning.
Most people come to alternative medicine after years of either trying Western medical therapies or doing nothing to address what is bothering them, as many of us ignore our aches and pains in the hope that they’ll just go away. If you’ve had a bothersome condition for months or years, recognize that it may take time for the body to shift back to health, ease, and balance.
We will reevaluate after three sessions. If it seems to me that another kind of bodywork or treatment would be more helpful, I will not hesitate to recommend other practitioners or to suggest that you try a different avenue of healing.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable, loose clothing. Zero Balancing is more easily done through clothes than on bare skin. In the summer, light cotton pants are good. Any kind of shirt is fine.
How will I know if it’s working?
You will know if Zero Balancing is a good modality for you if you notice an increased sense of well-being, a reduction or elimination of symptoms, or a difference in the way you approach life.
